Funky Lam Kitchen was created by Sanya Souvanna Phouma and Saya Na Champassak, two voices connected to Laos, working from Bangkok.
Lao food is having a moment. Not as a trend, but as a rediscovery.
For years, it sat in the shadow of its neighbours. Today, its identity is clearer: bold, fermented, herbal, and deeply balanced. A cuisine of contrast, fire and freshness, funk and something that keeps pulling you back.
Funky Lam Kitchen exists within that movement.
The cooking is rooted in the Mekong region, built on foundations like padaek, charcoal grilling, and pounded herbs. Nothing softened, nothing disguised, just clarity and depth.
Alongside the food, a focused wine selection and the Wine Talks series extend the table into something broader: a space where cuisine, history, and culture meet.
